High Tune

Hello!
It’s been a while. Hehe. Anyway, things are getting better in my study life. So since I’m kind of relaxed this week, I have time for more ideas! Yay!
This one is for a short film :)

Title: High Tune

Zion is a born-singer. Ever since he was young, he’s always been praised for his powerful voice. To Zion, his voice is his future---his edge, bread and butter to this world. But one day, Zion fell ill. It was so bad that he had to be hospitalized. Because of his medication, his voice got affected. The once flawless and smooth voice of the young guy became hoarse. Zion got depressed because of the turn-out of events and secluded himself to the world with his guitar.

Fast forward to 3 years, Zion is still stuck in his past---the sorrows of him echoing within the walls. One day, his brother decided to bring him to a town festival to cheer up his mood. Zion was reluctant at first, but was urged by his brother to follow. When they got to the festival, there is a mini stage for singers and dancers to perform. Zion watched the performers as he reminisce the times when his voice was still at its glorious tune. Of course, the brother has another agenda in mind---he wanted to see Zion breathe music again. He’s always worried for his brother ever since the incident happened and knowing him, he knows how much Zion is born to create music. So, he secretly signed up his brother as one of the performers. The host announced the next performer that Zion could not help but be astonished…and ashamed.

Could he do it again? Could his voice make it? He was so nervous that he almost chickened out but his brother assured him that he will be fine and even do well. Zion’s inner battle is finally at its peak. This is the moment he know he only has two options: to run or to go…Zion wanted to do the former, but his mind says the latter.

So, he got up in the stage…but instead of using his voice, he picked up a guitar. His brother wondered why Zion cannot put the courage to try…but was still happy for this small improvement. Zion, still hesitant, doesn’t know where to begin…

He took a deep breath, internalize for a while and started playing his instrument

Then suddenly, a beautiful tune came out. It wasn’t his voice. He’s certain it will never return. But what he’s creating at that moment is much more beautiful than what his voice can ever create. This tune is different---it expresses anguish, despair, happiness, regret and more emotions all in one. Zion’s brother cannot believe what he’s seeing. Zion once again looked lively and much more alive than before. Zion’s isolation allowed him to work on his guitar without even realizing that he’s creating a new voice.

A voice so beautiful that transcends beyond sound.

1st Post for Feb!

Hello world!

Happy February awaits us!
Love is in the air this month but for all the single ladies like me, let us all enjoy our own company! haha

Anyway, since today is February 4. I’m gonna be posting ideas with the themes of love, romance and etc. When I say love, it doesn’t mean that it’s always a story between a girl and a boy. There is love from family, friends, everyone that I hope I can make an idea about.

For this post, I have an idea for a full-length film. It is a rom-com kind of clichéd type. hehehe

Please read on!

DATE NIGHT LIVE

Patricia is a budding production manager who won in a raffle contest.

Her prize is to have a date with popular model, Chris. She’s nervous but excited to meet a popular person but there are things she worry about: first, she has never been on a date; second, she’s 25 and Chris is 20 and lastly, she feels insecure because she’ll definitely like a rag next to him because of her lack of fashion sense. The result is a very awkward date---her very first date.

Months after that, Patricia joined her photographer cousin for a photo shoot.  It turns out that the model her cousin will work with is no other than Chris. Patricia is so embarrassed meeting him again but since Chris is a gentleman, he assured that things between them are okay. Later on, Patricia was asked by her co-worker friend to proxy for her with a meeting with a potential client. Patricia head on to the meeting and met Mrs. Lopez, Chris’ mother and a talent scout. She wants Patricia’s production company to work on a reality dating show with his son. The main reason for it is to boost his popularity with women and the public.

On the other side, she’s secretly screening women who is potential to be Chris’ future wife since she’s already reaching 60 years old. Eventually, the project pushed through and much to Patricia’s surprise, the management included her in the show after finding out she already dated Chris once!

Will the first disaster repeat itself? More importantly, on live television? Or this time, will sparks fly?

Relax, chill and watch the romance. This is Date Night Live.

Between the Lines

Between the Lines

Characters:

Sophie – a popular fan fiction writer under the user name “Ice Crystals.” She’s a college student who only considered writing as a hobby. Her dream in life is to be a pre-school teacher.

Alexis – a publishing editor who’s in search of the next big thing. She’s a frustrated woman who only got to publish one book but dreams of winning a Pulitzer Prize.

Keith – Sophie’s friend who’s the first one to read her stories before posting it online. He believes that Sophie can make it big someday. He’s a fan of pop culture whom Sophie asks for advice about ideas and life.

Synopsis:

Sophie’s new fan fiction “Take Me Home” got popular online that it was noticed by her idol, pop singer Jason McKinley. It got so many views that she’s been receiving calls from publishing houses asking her to publish her online works into books. Canvas Publishing’s Alexis was one of the people who called Sophie but in reality, she’s not impressed at all with Sophie’s writing. She just called the young lady because her boss told her to do so. Alexis believes that writing should be taken seriously---an art and science that should be earned with a degree. On the contrary, Sophie only writes for fun but manages to be successful for it---which makes Alexis more frustrated since she studied writing all her life but only managed to write one book that placed 80th spot on the best-seller list. Sophie’s “mentor” and adviser is her friend Keith who is always in the know of the latest pop culture trends and they both just want to enjoy the simple joys of expressing their thoughts.

So when Sophie tried her luck and accepted Alexis’ offer (out of all people!), their ideologies collide. Sophie and Keith team up for the ideas while Alexis keeps on asking them to edit, revise and stick to the basics.

Will they ever produce a good book? Will they learn something from each other? Will harmony come unto them or will their circumstances cause more chaos?

Between the Lines tells you the importance of embracing change and believing in something that you passionately do.

In A World of Rejection

Hello!

So today, I have an idea for a short film. Basically, I want to show the values of perseverance, positivity and resilience with this story. This isn’t too complex but it deals with a topic that I know most of us or probably all of us doesn’t want to talk about. So here’s the gist for the story titled

“In a World of Rejection”

“Beneath the dark clump of clouds, there’s an infinite space, beneath the windows in our eyes, there is light and beneath in the world of rejection, there is love.”

Jason is a simpleton. When he was young, he was an average kid living an average life---playing with friends, eating out with parents and having decent grades. But despite living in comfort, Jason was unhappy. He’s unhappy because everything seemed to be average for him. Although he’s the reserved type, Jason wanted more. He wants to finish college with honors, to have a successful job, a beautiful wife, an enormous house, a highly-respected name, a family whose others envy and a man who achieves the best. He wants to be successful, to be at the top and erase the “average” life he has. Jason doesn’t want comfort---he wants to live taking risks. Because of this ambition, Jason faces a lot of rejection. He cannot have a steady girlfriend because he’s too busy studying, he has too many smart classmate as competitors, he’s not rich to buy envy-worthy stuff. In short, no matter what Jason do, he is still average. But despite the hardships, the quarrels, the pool of tears, the anguish and anxiety of giving your best, but receiving the average, Jason continues lives to live a world of rejection, a world he knows that one day and someday, will change for his best.

----

I don’t know if I’m doing this right because with this story, my main character will probably continuously face rejection. But the reason I want him to have problems over problems if for his character to develop as a strong, steel-hearted and driven one…and I guess victory taste sweet if you seriously worked hard and desperately seek for it.

Iskolar (The Scholar)

Hello, another idea post for today!
This is for a short-film about a girl planning take up a college entrance exam at her dream university.

Iskolar (The Scholar)

Characters:

Roselle – a fourth year private school student from a middle-class family. She is ambitious, goal-oriented, smart and idealistic. Despite the privilege of being enrolled in a private school, she feels that her school is not competitive enough and that she’ll learn more if she studied in a public science high school. Moreover, her parents’ income is not enough for her to enroll in the top admired private universities in the country. With this in mind, she plans to go to an esteemed university---UP.

Stella - Roselle’s mother – she is a thirty eight year old housewife and a brand direct seller. She’s aware of how driven her daughter is when it comes to education and worries on how they can manage to send her off to college but her soft-spoken approach cannot compete with her daughter’s sharp conviction. With her small earnings and moral support to give, Stella stands by her daughter's side in achieving her dream to become a scholar.

Rodin – Roselle’s father – an employee at an accounting firm, he is a forty year old accountancy graduate who never got the chance to take the CPA exam because of lack of financial resources. This personal frustration led him to fully support Roselle in achieving her dream, also a dream he failed to put into reality. Moreover, his salary is not enough for them to send Roselle into the top universities. For him, Roselle’s hurdle is not her battle alone, but the battle of their family.

Story:

Every high school student dreams of entering a prestigious university and for Roselle, aiming for the best is nonetheless her goal.

A truly ambitious person, Roselle strived her way to become the smartest in her class and learn all she could learn so that she can pass her college entrance exams even without cram schools. Because of financial difficulties, Roselle studies in the school library, asked for free tutorial services from her teachers and continued to study on her own while some of her classmates are in the luxury of enrolling in review centers.

For her, education doesn’t equate a hefty amount. Moreover, if she were to choose, she would study in a public science high school rather than in a private high school wherein money is also a requirement. More than the prestige, Roselle knows that she can learn the best from the best if she enters her dream university. For her, this dream is hitting two birds in one stone---her admission to the university means her parents will not need to work too hard for her expenses.

But all her efforts are not enough to measure if she can pass or not. She can only relax if a letter revealed that she’s officially qualified to admit in the university or not. But for Roselle, she only have one life to live, and she wants to live it studying in her dream university and be a scholar.

FAN GIRL CHRISTMAS

Merry Christmas!

Christmas is just around the corner so I would like to greet you in advance. Moreover, I’m the type who stays offline during Christmas because I’ll be busy eating. Hahaha.

Anyway, I have this new idea in mind. This is not really new actually, I’ve been thinking about this since I heard EXO’s The First Snow years ago. The group didn’t actually released a music video for that song so I just kind of made my own music video in my mind.

I like the song because the lyrics are just sad. And listening to the instrumental arrangement of it makes me picture a snowy park with a very melancholic mood. At first, I thought it was a sweet love song but when I searched for the translation, my heart was broken. I don’t know if I understood it well but the song is about a guy who remembers his ex-girlfriend during Christmas, and he imagines that if he ever see his girlfriend during that time, he would greet her and ask her how she’s doing. In addition, he also sorry for the pain they both felt and I think he’s still pained by it.

Here's a lyrics video with translation:

I know this is a typical story but damn, my tear ducts are buying it. I don’t know if it’s the tune or Luhan’s voice (his voice is sooo gentle, he’s angelic and almost perfect. like how can you break up with that kind of person?) but one of the main reasons is the definitely the lyrics…

how can a guy just stand there pretending to look okay and just greet the girl a merry Christmas and trying not to cry in front of her and just basically not having the guts to move and hug her or reconcile with her.

A guy who’s trying to be happy for the girl and keeping his distance and its Christmas, he’s all alone, it’s snowing and there are many things in his mind but all he could say were hello, I’m sorry, Merry Christmas and how are you?

This is pure torture for me. T____T

Anyway, my idea for this song’s music video (Although it’s really impossible especially for the EXO-M version, because 3 out of 6 just left the group. Another torture for me.) is the first scene will show a beautiful park and scenes of the singing member of the group like (how can I elaborate this well…) uhm, it will look like he’s singing in front of the camera like he’s recording it while the other members are having fun with kids at the park, sitting at the bench holding a gift, trying out sidewalk food and just basically doing happy stuff.

Then the people around them will starting moving backwards and suddenly, they will stop and the members of the group starts roaming around the area. They will try to make the people move again and then they will pass by the places he and his someone special used to go to. While remembering the past, they’ll momentarily stop and relinquish the memories until the snowing began. They will continue to walk until they came into a halt when each one of them will cross their paths with their ex-girlfriends.

The people around the area will start moving again, they will be happier because of the snow. It will show the contrast between them and the members’ situation. Then, there will be a close up shot to the now, on the verge of tears members and will try to say something but their voice won’t come out. There will also be a great distance between them and their girls.

More snow will come down and there will just be one member who will be the focus and say

“Hi, Merry Christmas, How are you?”

And the girl will just nod and smile shyly. They will just stare at each other until the guy notices the ring around the girl’s finger. So he’ll just smile and walk away. The rest of the members will also just smile and just go on with their previous activity with a light feeling that finally, their minds will be put to peace after seeing that their loved one is okay…and that is enough to make them happy. The ending scene will be one of the members in a close up shot, smiling but with definitely sad eyes.

So basically, the story will be about these young men having some me-time at the park and doing some stuff to entertain their selves. Then, their world will stop upon remembering the memories of him and his ex that were created on that park. So, in order to go back to his senses, he searched within the park only to find out that his ex was there but is already taken, so he went away and realized that he should go on, forget the past and just be happy for the girl. My earlier explanation was how this story will be executed on the camera. So it means that when the people stopped moving, it symbolizes the thoughts of the members that stopped due to remembering the past. Another symbolism is when the members went around the part, which is basically them searching inside their selves on what seems to be wrong with their system. And finally, the people started moving again means that the members are back to their senses and reality.

I followed the lyrics with this one. And I think if the cinematography and the setting (I can picture a light, pastel like color for this) is good, then I can definitely present my idea in a much better way. It’s honestly hard to describe this idea because it’s a series of cut scenes and etc. And I followed the basic boy group videos that caters to the fan girl feels. Although I was thinking of playing around, the song is just really sweet and boy band type so I think the highly figurative or experimental themes will fit the song.

So there. I know this might sound simple and I sound too carried away by the song. New Year is coming so I hope along with that is my improvement in writing and concocting ideas.

Wish me luck. Haha

BACKSPACE

Hello!

This is my idea for today. This can be for a short-film or a novel or a fan fiction story and etc.

BACKSPACE

Jenna is not a social butterfly. She doesn’t like going out after school and meeting new people. For her, it’s enough to have few friends and a family. One day, her best friend urged her to find a potential friend or even flame online. She’s hesitant at first because she’s not fond of the first awkward stages of getting to know a person especially in a virtual world.

First, she “met” Aries, a sweet guy who turned out to be a cold dessert. Jenna was frustrated on how Aries “dumped” her that easily. After that, she met other guys online who are just total douchebags, more douche-y than Aries.

Then one night, she had a five hour chat with Jon, a foreigner studying in the Philippines. He promised to keep in touch and Jenna thought it was true…

Jenna waited for days that became weeks and eventually became months. She was utterly sad and disappointed on how these people can be approachable online when in fact, they can’t even connect in real life.

Through a series of frustration, sadness and moving on, Jenna will realize that she can’t expect others to be sweet, open and honest just because she’s one and that in life, it’s better to find love offline.

Actually, this story shows how the CMC Theory works and why physical intimacy is a key in creating relationships. It is somehow inspired by real life events and it will teach us the value of evaluating which relationships or connections are worth keeping or not.

Love Letter

Hello!

Do you have an ideal love letter?
Did you ever wrote one for your someone special?

If yes, what are things you said in the letter?

If no, what holds you back from doing so?

In all the honesty in the world, I've been single since birth so I haven't (yet) got the chance or a legitimate reason to write a love letter. But one day, an idea struck me...

What if I try writing a love letter?

I know this is kind of ridiculous prior to my zero percent experience in love but what I did is I visualized a situation just like the one with Eleanor and Park (you know that book? I seriously love the story).

And with that, here is my idea of a love letter...(I wrote every bit of it)

To my future boyfriend,

Hi. How are you?

I hope by this time, you are already asleep. You’re not supposed to stay awake late or else you’ll add up the bags under your eyes. But don’t worry, I will love you as much your professor loves to give you workloads…and I would love to see your innocent state while sleeping…to look at your lashes, lips and to hear your steady breathing...

It’s funny that you fell for me, right? I mean, who would fall in love with me…I’m not the ideal type at the first place. I am chubby, I have acne, thin hair, uneven skin tone, flat nose, wide forehead, big face, small boobs, rough hands, big ugly feet and a flat bottom. I don’t have the qualities the guy wants in a girl.

But I have this insatiable appetite for knowledge, art, movies, philosophy, photography and books. I don’t know how to use make-up…but I know how to use Photoshop, Premier and do a film review. I am not even the skirts, dresses and heels type of girl. In fact, I love wearing my worn out Chucks for a quick run to the mall.

These are the only things that I can give to you…and love of course. And along with love, is my trust, pain, passion, hatred, frustrations, joys and all. I cannot give you a piece of meat you can hold at night…but I can talk to you until the night turns to day. I can listen to your worries. I will be your sturdy shoulder when you just want to take that “I am strong” mask off.

I can share stories that will get you out of the boredom. I will sing or dance along with you if you want to. I will not laugh at you if you told me you like a Taylor Swift song or if you cried while watching a rom-com movie.  I will go if you invite me to watch a play you’re starring. I will buy you boxer briefs if ever yours already has a bacon garter in it.

I will hold your hand while we’re walking. I will sometimes show my weak side just to show you how much I need your strength. I will cry in your chest because you wanted to be my rock. I will accept our dates that you always pay for because I know how much you planned for it. I am a strong woman…but for you, I will get weak. I will get weak so you’ll take care of me. I will be clumsy so you’ll reach out your arms for me. I will look like a damsel in distress because I want you to save me

…and I want to look soft because I want you see how much human you are to me.

My future boyfriend, I am an imperfect person and so are you. But my eyes were blocked by the mist---every fiber of your being, the good and the bad, is perfect to me. And with this, I am just asking you one thing.

Never. Let. Me. Go.

Even though I am boring. Even though I am nerdy. Even though I’m a bad kisser. Even though I’ll burn the eggs for breakfast or mess up the whole Christmas dinner. Give me the assurance that you’ll stay...

Sacrifice yourself. There’s a billion people in this world…but be the one to volunteer to love me.

Take the initiative. They don’t want to fill this space in my life. Take it. You don’t have any competition. It’s all yours for the taking. A bargain that nobody can see. A gem that is covered by mud. Let me be your partner in this world as if we’re the lab rats.

Do me a favor and never let me go.

And I, in return, promise that even though I have two eyes, two hands, two feet, two ears and two breasts…I only have one heart…and it will be given to you and only you.

Love,
Your Girl

So, that's it! I hope you liked it :)

A Ticket To Nostalgia

Hello!

Tonight, I just want to share with you a personal experience. We often remember an occasion or an experience when it is paired with something that involves our senses. For others, like people in relationships, the girl may remember the first moments together with her guy based from the scent or perfume she or he’s wearing. Some may even remember their first salary day with the sweet taste of cake as a reward. There are a lot of events that can be associated with the senses…and if you’ll ask me, I often associate memories with songs.

The first time I went out of town was when I was in first year college for an international study tour. Our destination for the trip was Singapore so the plane ride isn’t that long and we stayed there for almost a week, visiting tourist spots, universities, media agencies, dine in a Korean, Thai, Mongolian, Malaysian and Chinese restaurant and just basically immersing ourselves with the culture.

I must admit, the place is truly beautiful. It looks so urban, progressive yet culturally-sensitive. Since I am used to our setting here in the Philippines, I was amazed with how clean the place was, how there is a smooth-flow of vehicles, how hawker food actually looks clean and delicious and how everything is just different and I guess better than ours. Of course, I know that Singapore is a first-world country but what I mean is I wish that someday, our country can keep up and progress like Singapore.

Another thing is, the only TV station we watch in Singapore is MTV Asia. We’re outdoors for the entire time so we don’t really had much energy left to watch a couple of series or news so we stick to MTV to provide us with the background music. Interestingly, there are songs that were constantly shown for days or should I say, during our entire stay at the country.

We listened to the songs everyday that when I came back here in the Philippines, the first thing I did when I got back home was I searched and downloaded the songs. Though some songs are in Chinese text or Pinyin, I was able to find it thanks to my extensive research skills. Hahaha. So this is a four song playlist that reminds me of my wonderful experience in Singapore. And honestly, I may sound exaggerating, but hearing these songs truly makes me close my eyes and remember the tall and beautiful architecture of the city, the food, the people and more especially, the entire place itself:

My SG Playlist

Adore You – Miley Cyrus (My most favorite Miley song. I’m not really a fan or her music or her style, but this one is an exception because of the vibe and the lyrics. Moreover, I remember the city nightscape whenever I listen to this song.)

Just Love - Zhang Jie (Jason Zhang --- a very famous singer in China. His other songs are beautiful as well and his voice sounds so mellow and fluid. I became a fan after hearing this song from him. He’s like the featured artist of the month that’s why his song is all over MTV.)

Parachutes - Wang Q. Xin (This is the most difficult song to find. I even braved to try Yinyuetai just to find this one. I seriously didn’t stop until I got it…It was worth it because hearing this song makes me want to tear up just by remembering the good old memories.)

143 – Henry Lau (Although I know this song even before the trip [I am a kpop fan, that’s why], I literally jumped on my bed when the video played on TV. As a fan of Henry Lau even from the start of his Super Junior-M career, I felt proud that he was able to be successful with his solo effort. I’m so proud of my Mochi.)

With this idea in mind, I would like to create a video blog or conceptualize a music video about travelling. For example, I would like to direct a music video that has the concept of backpacking all throughout the entire running time.

Let’s say that the POV will be from the audience or the first person on the video and the only thing to be seen is his surroundings, which is landmarks of famous countries, and his sneakers on the ground, while walking or running. There will also be faces of the locals looking at him strangely and some are looking at him with smile on their faces. The first scene of the video will be him outside of his house and the next scenes will be him at different countries. The color of the video will be in monochrome until the last scene appears. The last scene will slowly have color and it will show him going back to his house. Basically, this concept means that you cannot run or hide from what you truly feel inside. You may seek solitude but the real peace will be when one knows the essence of his soul.

So there, I know this post is kinda long but I hope it didn’t put your time to waste. Hehe.

Thank you so much for reading and see you!

Linger

source: http://miriadna.com/preview/rain-drops-on-the-branches

If there’s one thing I’d like to master, I’d like to master the art of forgetting.

Ever since I was younger, I seem to remember even the littlest of things or deeds from other people---the face of my Nursery classmate who peed on his pants, the day I was scolded by the teacher for cracking an inappropriate joke and even my international student classmate who only attended our school for two weeks.

If you think having a sharp memory is a blessing…then let me tell you that this is also a curse. A curse which I don’t know if I want to nurture or not. Given the pros and cons, I wish there is some sort of mechanism my mind and body can do to forget unnecessary things…especially the painful and plain absurd ones.

Remembering past events gives you nostalgia. It gives a sense of warmth, a remembrance of what the event felt like, a souvenir from a place you can’t get back to…it seems dreamy and wonderful to be able to look back and relive memories. It feels so good to know that your brain is still on the peak of its life. But this only applies to good, beautiful and oh so favourable memories. You can only say the positive when it hits you positively.

And in my case, when I think of you, I wish I can’t remember the part where you are.

That part when my brain cells sacrificed their lives to picture you out of my mind…

That part when I used my breath to lengthen my time spent with you…

That part when my lips curled into a smile because you made me do it…

That part when I was suffering from a fever but you hoped you made me feel better…

That part when we exchanged playful banter and you suddenly didn’t reply…

That part when I said sorry because I think my jokes aren’t funny enough…

That part when I asked you what you’re doing and you said nothing much…

That one morning when I woke up and suddenly got the feeling to block you out of my life…

That one morning when I was doubting my decision and was thinking if I’ll win you back…

That one morning when, by a surprising circumstance, found out what you have been…

That one morning when I woke up and I can’t think of anything but your name…

That dark evening when I look at your pictures and I keep asking myself if you still remember me…

That dark evening when I pretended that my pillow is your body that I’d hug to at night…

That dark evening when I regretted I never did anything to let you know I’m here…

And that dark evening when I realized I think I’ll never forget everything…

It sucks to remember. It’s hard to forget. It’s easy to create memories…it looks easy to break ones. But like a boomerang, it will hit you back more aggressively than the way you threw it. More importantly, I realized that feelings will never be constant and you’ll never know when you’ll miss or forget someone.

The worst part is, you know you’re the only one clinging to an old branch. The other one’s feet is already at the ground the moment you thought he’s still mid-air clinging with you. This is the culprit that makes remembering memories like this painful.

Now, I feel like my brain is not the only one who wants to forget…

And if ever my brain forgets the part you starred in…

I know a part that lies somewhere where it doesn't forget to love, you linger.
